Tai Chi Reviews

A patient, relaxing instructor! He is able to teach the slow movements well as his students mirror his actions.

One of the most important benefits I have gained from George’s Tai Chi classes is how to keep from falling. He addresses this in a variety of ways, so if one discussion doesn’t resonate with us, other hints and/or techniques that he shares will.  He is incredibly patient and very willing to answer questions or explain any aspects as many times as class members ask. Even if we don’t ask, his experienced eye sees where we need more help or practice.  I highly recommend his classes.

George's Tai chi class is well-instructed, thoughtful, and respectful of each student's level of learning. As a senior, I'm especially appreciative of the focus in Tai chi and how it translates to health. Thank you George!

Several years ago, an unexpected medical diagnosis catapulted me into an exercise regimen of weight/resistance training and treadmill. After becoming bored with the treadmill portion, I found an alternative that’s working for me - Tai Chi. As a total beginner, the instructors of Still Mountain Tai Chi classes guide and encourage you each step of the way.

I find the focus on mind, body, movement, and environment to be very helpful. My fear of falling is being replaced by a growing improvement in my balance and mindfulness of place and my relationship to it. I plan to continue these classes and encourage anyone who wants to explore Tai Chi to consider one of the classes.

George King has been a wonderful instructor--patient, talented, and well-schooled in multiple Tai Chi philosophies and approaches. I’m a novice, and George has been very skillful in finding effective ways to demonstrate and explain Tai Chi movements and forms to me.

His long-term knowledge of Tai Chi combined with his patient approach to teaching have offered me just the type of instruction I need to be motivated and to continually improve.

Though I still have many years of practice ahead of me, I am grateful to George for giving me such a successful grounding. I look forward to progressing with him in my practice!

I have been doing Tai Chi for the last two years and am very pleased with the professional and patient effort of George who works with all of us senior citizens who have some different and varying types of aging and disabilities. He is a great instructor.

For me, it is very relaxing and energizing. I will continue going to classes. It helps my balance and pain in my back. I feel much better after the class.

George K. gives a good, relaxing and very informative class. Always open to interpretations. I have never left one of his classes without a good feeling. The Saturday morning class makes it so the rest of my day has been started out on the right foot. Look forward to it every time!

I decided to try Tai Chi for stress relief a couple years ago. During the same time I reinjured a thirty year old ruptured disc. I went to physical therapy and took anti-inflammatory /pain relief drugs. There were days I felt hopeless about continuing this new type of physical activity. I rarely missed a class and eventually added a second session each week. Soon I was not taking any pain relief medication and I realized that my back pain was manageable with the addition of regular Tai Chi practice. I take time off from other physical activities but never Tai Chi.

We really enjoyed the Tai Chi sessions you led. It really helped get our troupe in the right frame of mind to work together well. You were patient and made sure we were getting what we wanted from the experience. I would rate the experience as 4 out of 5, due to the small space in which we had to work making it difficult to move around and see you sometimes. Your part was five star!

My wife's doctor suggested she take Tai Chi to improve her balance. Therefore, we signed up with Sifu George King for Tai Chi Chuan practice. We have both found it very beneficial, not only for balance, but also for all the various benefits Tai Chi provides. We are both very satisfied with the instruction given by Sifu George and look forward to attending weekly Tai Chi classes.

Hello, I have taken a few classes now with George. I really enjoy the time spent learning from him. He has many years practice and is very knowledgeable. I am very excited to study more tai chi. He even gave me a private lesson at a park near my home on his free time . This meant a lot to me. I had to leave a class pretty early, and he knew I didn't want to go. So he called me when he thought I may have time for a make-up lesson. I recommend Tai Chi with George always to anyone. Namaste!

Tai Chi Chuan

I have taken Tai Chi classes with George and he is an excellent instructor and works one on one with you. He has an enormous knowledge of these ancient Chinese excercises. I will continue to go to his classes and feel comfortable to attend his classes 3-4 times weekly.

Tai Chi Chuan

I have taken Tai Chi and meditation lessons from George for several years, and he is very knowledgeable and well-studied. His understanding of Qi energy enables him to help others work towards their inner peace. My balance has improved with Tai Chi practice, and I plan on continuing to work on Tai Chi and meditation with George.

Tai Chi Chuan

I took Tai Chi lessons with Sifu in person, at the Kroc Center location in Salem, and he was a great instructor! Patient, easy to follow, and a clear master of his craft. He not only teaches the moves of Tai chi, but explains their significance as both a martial art and a meditative practice. I am looking forward to our next round of lessons!

Meditation

George has a soothing voice as he leads one through meditation. I took two lessons from George, and as a complete beginner, I found his instruction helpful and his guidance meaningful and accurate. I improved significantly by just my second lesson, and I look forward to continuing this new practice.
